Try looking in the Mesmer and Necro sections of the forum. You might just find similar guides and Q&A threads as here. Although i would suggest reading the monk part thoroughly first as this is the core of any build.

Will the 55 monk live...or in that case...the 55? I was thinking of making one after i killed my 55 necro, i heard they were more fun to play. I want to know if you think areanet will nerf the 55 before i can get a good 5-6 months out of it. Can always to go phrophecies to farm but i just want your opinions =P

Also id like to know if anyone knows good spots in factions without mesmers or necros <-_->...

look around a bit...I already posted a thread (its on the first page) about 55 farming in factions.

also, 55's will be around for awhile. I don't see why they wouldn't. Has the Desert Griffon nerf affected everyone's attitude towards farming THAT much?

Hi everyone I'm fairly new to the 55 monk build and I have a few questions. First off I've been playing the game since original release but never used a 55 monk before, I've got the FFS 20% enchant and -50 cesta, I have been farming mostly in desert and around droks but am getting bored with it already. I've seen some 55 monks around ToA and am wondering if there is a 55 monk build that can solo UW/FoW either one? If anyone can reply to this with attribute/skill set I would appreciate it alot when I ask around ToA I either get no response or people thinking I'm a newb it's really very sad to see how rude people have gotten in game. Anyway I would really appreciate some tips even if not uw or fow some other good places to farm with my new 55 monk.

55 monks work in FoW and UW. (no real stable build for FoW however..lots of complication).

55 monks mainly go into UW with a SS Necro partner. Their main job is to tank for the SS necro. If you want more info on this I suggest you read Cerb's UW thread and/or my 55 thread.

Yes 55 monks can solo UW. However, it takes much longer than 2 man UW and is much harder so I suggest you do two man farm anyway.

yes it can. However, you can't capture SoJ in factions therefore you won't be able to play a 55 monk efficently for farming. HOWEVER, you can capture Spell Breaker in factions. And no, you can't capture SS in factions either.

Hey Guys This is Kinda About All 55 builds for a mnok I have a question about the runes
Ex. I buy all the types of runes which is divine/healing/protection/smiting
Now I have 1 more slot for the next rune This is When my Question applys
If i buy a tactics rune and later change my 2nd profession can i still use that armour which has the tactics rune in it or do i have to get new armour for each class i change to
Plz Does NAyone Know???

You can't use runes of your secondary profession at all(only primary, a monk can not use warrior runes, your not even allowed to buy them). Just buy another rune that you already got. You'll have 3 differant runes and 2 of the same type.

Is Spell Shield replace Spell Breaker, so in UW, 55 monk can deal some dmg with SoJ

Isn't spell shield the skill that disables all of your spells for x-seconds after it's done?

spell sheild is useless for UW farming. Timing would be to hard. Yes, and it desables your skill which would mess you up alot which you would also have to time so you have prot spirit on you while skills are disabled.

OK after reading through a lot of these posts I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has contributed and who continue to contribute.

Made my healer monk a 55 3 weeks ago to be able to farm some ecto. Got the hang of the thing quickly with the Trolls near Droks. So off we went to UW. A good few retries and we cleared the place

Though I currently find that I am getting interupted like it is nobodys business by the Aatxes and Grasps. Any hints for me?

I have just watched Cerbs clip and am AWED by they way he handles that place. Not even in my wildest dreams will I be good enough. So for now we take it nice and slow. I have taken some hints from these guides now and changed my att point sets a little and added B Aura for the longer enchant. Will see how that goes.

You guys are lucky I am not designer at anet. Instead of rend monster I would make a monster spawn when they start hitting you equiped with 6 assassin spells, death's charge and expunge enchantments. GG for spellbreaker 55 monk. I am surprised they let a gimmicky build solo the hardest areas in the game UW and FOW(before factions introduced elite missions).

Spura why the hate? If we manage to 2 man it then we get a few more ecto than you do with a full group of 8. Don't take it out on us if you were unable to play a 55 or just don't want to play one.

There are some areas where we do well and others where we just plain can't survive. The UW was already made a LOT harder than what it was, it isn't a matter of just making a 55 and going for the fun of it. It takes a lot of time to be able to stay alive and even more time to be able to really understand and utilise your builds.

As for gimmicky build : Somebody thought really hard about it and found a way to use that which was given to make something truly inspiring. If you don't like it, then just don't dwell on it.

well I'm pretty sure with that attitude you'd never make it into ANet. You should go find a recording of this week's Weapon of Choice (internet radio talk show about everything Guild Wars). Izzy (the guy behind all of the skill ballances) was talking about how he and his co-worker ballance skills.

Just because the 55 monk has become such a popular build doesnt mean anet will whip out the anti-55-devil-spawn-from-hell or something. I mean just look around, there's 3 man oro farming, 2 man topk farming, and many more.

And quite frankly, you have no question nor an answer so why are you posting in here? If I hadn't taken the time to explain and respond to your statement I would have deleted your post all together.
